Help from the enthusiastic crowd insured the half-time lead as the fans began an early 5-second countdown while the scoreboard clock showed l5 seconds remaining. Boody held the lead-scoreris position with 25 points, while Roger lVlcClothin contributed 2l. Traveling to Hobbs, the Wranglers came from as much as a twelve- point deficit going. into the final two minutes only to drop the game to the Thunderbirds of New Mexico Junior College by a scant 95-93. Hurd was held to six points the first half but made a fine showing in the second to take the scoring honors with a 34-point total. Even though Hurd maintained his 25-point scoring average, the Wranglers fell to the Chapparells by a narrow margin of 85-83. In the Wranglers' worst loss of the season, Odessa cagers were stopped blank by Amarillo College, 74-56. Boody was held. to 16 points, far below his 25-point conference average, and lVIcGlothin added oply 14.
