Throughout the ages man has re- corded his civilizations, thoughts, and societies. Today the social sci- ences of history, government, sociology, philosophy and economics attempt to convey these written words to students. Through under- standing yesterday, man attempts to predict the future, and tomor- row's future citizens are prepared in part through the social sciences taught by the faculty of Odessa College. A full curriculum in the social sciences is offered to an Odessa College student. These are courses which are accredited in senior colleges and are reputed to be some of the toughest in the state. Headed by chairman Parker Bogus, history teacher, the depart- ment includes other history teachers Frank Cornes, Thomas Heiting, Truell Hyde, Julian Pressly, Dr. Helen Reinhart, Bernhard Sedate and Kenneth Yeilding, who also teaches government. Robert Sinder- mann and Ina Mae McCollom also instruct government. There are two economic teachers, Aaron Bautch and Dick Kennedy. Jim Hinds instructs sociology, and Truett Hilliard doubles, teaching philosophy and history. ,,,,.,1.1-.- Thomas Heiting Parker Bogue
