Business Ofiioe Helps College Run Smoothlg Any large institution has certain big time finance qualities, and OC is no exception. Keeping the budget balanced is a big job, and in charge of money matters at Odessa College is Rex Hopkins. His Oliice is responsible for collectingfees, maintaining finances of the college, and transacting business matters. Assisting Mr. Hopkins in the business administration is Malcolm Hensley, who is new to OC this YCETQ Completing the list of deans supervising Odessa Col- lege is R. Jerry Anstead Whose title is Dean of Technical- Vocational Education. He co-ordinates the technical and vocational activities at the college. Before this post was created, these departments were spread throughout the colleve curriculum. Now Dean Anstead's oilice concen- D trates these courses under one head. R. Jerry Anstead

Frank Nanson Maintenance. Union Under New Directors New to Odessa College this year are Frank Nanson, director of the student union building, and Reed McFarland, director of the physical plant. Mr. Nanson has for his job the responsibility of running the college bookstore and directing the activities of the union. His duties take in a wide variety ranging from assisting instructors in ordering new textbooks to assisting in scheduling activities. Mr. McFarland came to OC from Odessa High School. His job con- sists of seeing that the college campus is kept in order. His crews are at work constantly repairing, painting, moving, cleaning and improving. His duties are also varied and range from the supervision of campus buildings and grounds to managing the college's fleet of CHTS. The secretaries at OC also provide many and varied services, and ali are essential to an ellieiently-run organization. Here is a capsule-View of just a few of the many at OC. Assisting in the presidentis office arc Mrs. Prehblc 'fiiggsi' Storie and Mrs. Doris Hinds. Mrs. Storie serves as Dr. Rodger's secretary with duties ranging from the more routine matters, such as preparing letters, to pre- paring material on upcoming regent's meetings. Mrs. Hinds has a job which allows her to greet hundreds of people during the course of a single day. She is the P. B. X. operator and recep- tionist in Dr. liodger's oflice. She has a personality and a way with people that suit her well for her job. Assisting in the Evening College office is Mrs. Mariiyn Hoak. Her job finds her arriving at the campus at about l p.m. and working until about 9 p.m. ' Mrs. Dolly Harrold is the secretary to Dean Vaught. Her job often finds her helping students with routine schedule problems. not-so-routine parking problems talso called ticketsi and helping a new and confused freshman find the proper classroom.
