Engineering Club Members Develop Solid Foundation In Chosen Field of Work Not all knowledge of the engineering field may be gained in the class- room. To present these outside facets to the interested students of Odessa College was the sole purpose of this year's Engineering Club. Meetings were held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in Main 211 during activity. Various programs were presented during the year including lectures by prominent area engineers in many fields. Chris Acreman, spring semester president, succeeded Larry Robinson who presided during the fall. Bruce Schooler took up the secretarial choresg Roger Herrington kept financial records. Sponsors included Hugh Yvaldrum, Everitt Fixley and Kenneth Hurst, -all college math instructors. Development ol' Student Interest Objective ol' Alpha Dmega Group To further the interests of OC and area high school students in science and its 'fields by practical experience is the objective of Alpha Omega, the campus science club. Officers for the spring semester consisted of Cliff Crowley, presidentg Philip Van Auken, vice presidentg Elizabeth Geeslin, secretary-treasup erg and David Holcomb Inter-club Council representative. Sponsors of Alpha Omega were Lavon Ellis, Mildred Bevan, and Roger Corzine, all of the biology de- partment, and Brent McAfee and Dr. John Dismant both on the geology faculty. l W, Cliff Crowley, president, participates in the dissection nf a shark's brain.

Club Spurs Majors In Business Fields To aid business majors in their search for a better under- standing and appreciation of the iield, Phi Beta Lambda hosts various events throughout the academic year. Bake sales and car washes earned funds for the clubg conventions and lectures by area business leaders provided educational upliftingg and club get-togethers offered social extension to the members. The membership of Phi Beta Lambda was open to all of those who aspired to the position of future businessmen and women, and any other college student who was interested in the business lield. Sponsors for the spring were Mrs. Betty Friesinger, Mrs. Rita Hurst, Mr. Luther Corder, and Mr. Paul Nieball. Oliicers included Gary Greenlee, presidentg Randy Pryor, vice presidentg Helen Weaver, secretary 5' Barbara Herriage, ICC representativeg and Joel Nolan, treasurer.
