ACS Contributes Proctor Sessions For OC Chemists As a result of advances and discoveries in the space program, medicine, and synthetics during the past year, members of the American Chemi- cal Society strove for a further understanding of these scientific expansions through the study of basic chemistry. Furthering the high academic ideals and voca- tional ethics were the prime goals of the Ameri- can Chemical Society. Members extended the traditional chemistry proctor sessions throughout this year. Several speakers were heard. The group also participated in the annual Science Fair. Development ol' Student Interest Objective ol' Alpha Dmega Group To further the interests of OC and area high school students in science and its 'fields by practical experience is the objective of Alpha Omega, the campus science club. Officers for the spring semester consisted of Cliff Crowley, presidentg Philip Van Auken, vice presidentg Elizabeth Geeslin, secretary-treasup erg and David Holcomb Inter-club Council representative. Sponsors of Alpha Omega were Lavon Ellis, Mildred Bevan, and Roger Corzine, all of the biology de- partment, and Brent McAfee and Dr. John Dismant both on the geology faculty. l W, Cliff Crowley, president, participates in the dissection nf a shark's brain.
