Autumn Asedo Functions Add Zing to College Life Dances, rush teas, initiation and the formal presentation of new members comprised the major social activities of the club this year. One of the many service projects sponsored by the group was the annual spring presentation of a scholarship to a deserving college woman. Not all the benefits derived from the Asedo organization were social and service, however. The objectives of the club included the encouragement of a high standard of social life within the college, sound scholarship, loyalty, school spirit and service to the College community. Trudy Waldron in the presidential ollice was assisted by Vice President Claire Cagiano. The secretarial post was amply filled by Anna Dennis, while Pat Trott served as treasurer. Imogene Vaught, head advisor, received support from fellow sponsors, Delores Behrens, Ethelston Chapman, Don Huff, Aaron Bautch, Charles Lawson and Joe DePasqual. l?:--f- Phi Theta Kappa Meet Held at Odessa College The lfta Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa strives for scholas- tic excellence at UC. Promotion ol high standards, recognition of honor students and encouragement of scholarship constitute the aims of this academic organization. To qualify for membership a student must be carrying fifteen hours and have at least a 2.2 grade point average. To remain in the organization a student must carry fifteen hours and maintain a 2.0 grade point average. Eta Tau hosted the annual Texas State Convention which was held Ot-t. 20-22 on the OC campus. This year marked the fiftieth anniversary of the honor society. Program covers lor the conven- tion were designed in observation of the birth date. The local chapter sold student directories which listed names, addresses and phone numbers ol OC students.
