The National Honor Society chapter at O-M recognizes leadership, citizenship, and academic excellence. Further, our Honor Society performs services for the school. This year, as usual, the Society acted as hosts on Parents’ Night and tutored athletes with academic problems. The group hosted a school and visited another in an exchange program. Mr. Mudrak’s unique club has all different kinds of students who love problem solving situations. The club works on projects for area competitions. O-M’ers have had to work on homemade balsa bridges that could withstand a 100 pound weight, engineer packaging that could protect an egg dropped from above, and the top secret Atlantis Project. 24 HON SOC ODESSEY

Below left: John Page in Welding The Big Bus Ride to VoTech O-M’ers Learn Job Skills at BOCES BOCES is a multi-million dollar campus where some of our O-M’ers go for a half a day of vocational instruction. Students head for Philo Road and take courses in trade, technical, and service occupations. Fields of study offered are: agricultural mechanics, auto body repair, carpentry, child care, cosmetology, food prep, welding, data processing, conservation, health services, plumbing, and horticulture.
