Mr Eric Claire All right ladies and gentlemen, today we are going to discuss Catch-22. If I could have just three questions or one would be great... But 1 don't want to beat it to death. Okay, let's go over some things that I thought were important. Any problems and or questions? Going once. Let's look at the Glencoe book. Now don't moan, gee you guys. I'm giving you till Wednesday and it's not a long assignment. Boy, try to be a nice guy and all I get are complaints. I want to make it do-able. Now if you want a grade that begins with a 9, you bet- ter do the assignment. When wandering in the south corridor these words will echo in your ears. Mr Claire is not your ordinary teacher. He doesn't teach History, Math, or any other mundane class. No, he teaches senior English. It takes a lot of patience, determination, and a good sense of humor. Mr Claire is a very courageous man to day in and day out put up with the age old disease called senioritis. Titles like King Lear, A Farewell to Arms, and Oedipus brought many moans and groans to Mr Claire, but still he pressed on. He feels we need to reach beyond those junior high love stories and read the classics. Maybe some of us don’t understand what you mean now Mr Claire, but I’m sure we will. Thanks for putting up with us and being such a great guy! DEDICATION 5
