apientes- the formal name of the O-M Honor Society. Honor Society is an institution deeply engrained in our school for over 30 years. The students are put on an eligibility list if they maintain an 85 average. The teachers evaluate the student on their leadership, service, character, and attitude. Honor Society officers were Dulcie Gifford Pres, Bob Kane V-P, Wendy Roblyer Trea, Jeanette Dillon Sec. Student Council is another institution that has been around a long time. It's the only form of government in school. It's a place where students can petition their grievances through the proper channels. A Latin proverb says that 'Art has no enemies except igonorance.' The main goal of this ten year old club is to gain and spread knowledge of art and art appreciation. This year the Art Club and art students went on several field trips to museums, entered work in two art shows, and sponsored face painting and the 2nd Annual Fine Arts Banquet. For the past decade, the Art Club has taken a cultural arts trip to New York City. This year they sponsored a ten day trip to Europe during Easter vacation. The itinerary included artistic highlights of France, Italy, and a short stop in Switzerland None of this would be possible without the enthusiasm of the Art Club advisor, Mrs. Penny Titus.
