Homecoming It was a typical October evening. Everyone was ready for the Homecoming festivities. The floats were parked on the softball field, and the band was warming up. But in the locker room, the winning plan was on the drawing board. Denise Parrott said, 7 think the crowd was the most psyched it has ever been.' 'The game was very hard hitting and physical and the candidates for queen were lovely,' said Mr Taylor. Dulcie Gifford became 1985 Homecoming queen and received a kiss from Mr Martin. After the final score, Odessa beat Groton 21 to 14 but Mark Decker said, 'It was a tough game.' But all in all, October 11th marked a special moment in the lives of many. Here's Tammy VanNess showing the winnning sophomore float. Their victorious theme was Chop'em away. Could Debbie Gifford be that half-slaughtered Groton player? 14 HOMECOMING The Freshmen seem to think they are No.l with their rottcnfloat.
