Student Life Along with academic aspects of O-M, there are many social, school sponsored events that are conducted that round out our school as a place for the total individual. Homecoming gives senior high students a chance to get together and argue about who will volunteer their house to make the class float and what the theme will be. If you are lucky enough, you go to another event. The Prom. Themes, band, decorations, dinner reservations, flowers, and tuxes and gowns are all thoroughly discussed all for a refined night of dancing. The Prom gives the school something to look forward to in the Spring. It also gives the younger girls something to dream about and the younger boys something to have nightmares over. It's a pretty special night for everyone attending because the curfews are usually extended and the school never looks that good day Vanessa McDaniels wonders if Mr Claire is right. Is it true about Iago and Othello? or night. Couples attending The Prom feel like pretty special people that night. The Class of '86 exchange student, Rebekka Plate, taught us a lot about West Germany and about European fashions. Rebekka's fashion statement was dyed diapers-yes that favorite from childhood. A cloth dyed in various colors and worn as scarf wrapped around the neck. The Band and the Chorus are not exactly like our regular academic experiences in that we have to take part in a concert in order to pass. These groups demand a lot of hard work and spread the joy of music. So, O-M has a lot for the student in all areas of activity outside of the academics. We must give credit to the teachers who help us as proctors and advisors and make this aspect of our life possible. O-M is important in our rural setting. 4s one high school teacher said, 'This is probably the place where you'll be treated best in your life.' 6 STUDENT LIFE DIVIDER

Rotary Exchange Student: Rebekka Plate Ich habe viel Neues kennengelernt seit ich hier bin, und ich moechte mich bei vielen von Euch da fuer bedanken, dass Ihr mir Anfang geholfen habt mich einzuleben. In einer fremden Familie als eines ihrer Mitglieder zu leben, auf eine andere Schule zugehen, keinen Menschen zu kennen und langsam aber sicher die Leute kennenzulernen, ist eine sehr interessante und wertolle Erfahrung die ich gemacht habe und ueber die ich mich freue. Danke! I got to know many new things since I am here and I want to thank many of you who helped me at the beginning to get to know the surroundings. Living as a member in a new family, going to a different school, knowing noboby, and slow but sure getting to know the people is a very interesting and valuable experience I made and I am happy about that!
