1978 Mrs. Blanche Lewis What can you say about a person who does so much for everyone? When she is needed she’s there. Everyone that comes in contact with her knows that deep down inside she really cares. You know that you are welcome in your own certain way, when she greets you with a smile anytime of day. No matter who you are, teacher or student, she’s always willing to lend a helping hand. That is why our class is proud to dedicate this yearbook to a person who is loved by all. But they were thought of often, and with love. Only they never knew, they never knew. The secret that will unfold to no one. Someone will tell them, when they get to heaven. But we will never tell them, they’re not coming home. As friends they would sing along. As boys they would play along. As themselves they would live along. Although their gone, they still live within is. And their laughter will still be heard by many ears. Untouched by fear. Unhurt by love. At graduation we all grow near. All our friends seem so much dearer. I loved him with all my heart, and no one like him could play the part. He was so younge and kind hearted the way they should be. But somehow they could not see. Yes I have learned from those who have yearned For what they want out of life is to stay cool and stay out of sight. The middle of a cold gray winter. The notorious Class of 78 was finally on the way out. THE game of the year was coming up. Watkins Glen at OM for the annual basketball thriller and OM is basketball country. Out of the goodness of their hearts, students from the Class of 78 wanted to help Watkins get ready for the big game by refurbishing their mascot—a IVi foot high Indian, on wheels even. One the night of Jan 23rd, three OM Seniors supposedly entered the WG high school and walked off with their Indian. It was alleged that WG Principal Bub Warner wanted to press criminal charges! On Jan 26th the Indian was mysteriously found in the Odessa area.
