MR. WILFRED GOODRICH Mr. Wilfred Goodrich Our class of 1965 takes unusual pride in dedicating our yearbook to you, Mr. Goodrich. We feel that you most eminently merit our recognition for two reasons: First, because you are completing 20 years of service to our school. Second, because of the exceptionally fine assistance you have given to the school building program as superintendent of our buildings and grounds. Actually, though, we feel we owe you our thanks, even more, for your work as our teacher and for your companionship for these past four years. Our inquiring reporter tells us that, after graduation from Cortland Normal School, you taught in a one-room school in Tioga County for five years and at Owego Free Academy for seven years. In 1945 you came to Odessa as a teacher of industrial arts and mechanical drawing. Among the other contributions you have made to our school, you drove a school bus for 17 years, you helped students by building furniture for class plays, by being on duty for athletic events, by chaperoning at many dances, and by acting as class advisor at large. You became our first qualified director of adult education in 1951, covering fourteen courses ranging from typing and homemaking to law and insurance. We want to compliment you upon your versatile career and upon the fact that you have missed only two days in 32 years. As our neighbor, we know that nine members of your family have engaged in teaching; your father, your mother, your two brothers, and four sisters, besides yourself. We have been happy to be classmates of your children, Jeanne and Fred, recent graduates of Odessa, and of your daughter, Virginia, who is now a Junior. We salute you with the wish that you will have many more years of active service and abundant good health. 12
