Mr. Henry B. Heslop, Supervising Principal TO THE CLASS OF 1965 My sincere congratulations are extended to the Class of 1965. You havehadto face many obstacles and hardships because of the building program. Lack of classroom space, no gym for basketball games, no auditorium for dramatics, and then distractions of air hammers, power drills, and various other noises, not to mention the constant flow of steam fitters, plumbers, electricians, tin knockers, tile setters, laborers, plasterers, sheet-metalworkers, and carpenters, have all contributed to make 1964-65 a difficult year. I have been particularly impressed with the attitude and respect you have shown toward the school and the teachers. You have pursued your studies in a workmanlike manner. My confidence in you as young men and women has never been greater. I feel that you are capable of facing the challenges of modern society, accepting your responsibilities, and looking to the future with a positive attitude. In years to come we hope that you will return to your Alma Mater and enjoy the facilities which you saw in their early development. Sincerely yours,
”

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION We, the graduating class of 1965, wish to express our appreciation for all you have done for the betterment of our school and our community through your efforts in planning and carrying through the building program. Our school when completed this spring, will not only be enlarged and modernized, it will also become a recreational and cultural center for Odessa, Montour and the surrounding area. The new 796 seat auditorium will provide facilities for public and political meetings, visiting performers, amateur theatricals, concerts, motion pictures, and our various school productions. With the addition of the swimming pool for our physical education department, the people of our community can have year-round enjoyment. The pool will also provide the facilities for instruction in swimming and life-saving. We realize the many hours of planning, discussion, and reviewing of blue prints that you have given for the improvement of our school and community. And as the first class to be graduated from the new auditorium, we wish to thank you and to compliment you on making a new civic center for Odessa and Montour. Sincerely, The Class of '65 6
