Few of us realize the trials and tribulations that our parents must endure and understand during our school term. So; therefore, the staff of the 1958 Odessanean gratefully acknowledge their fine work. In sincere appreciation we dedicate this year's Odessanean to them. STANDING: Left To Right: John Bulkey; Kenneth Gilbert, Clerk; George Hoffman; Irving Goodrich, District Superintendent of Schools. SEATEI Delmar Bleller; Howard Hanlon, President; Stewart J. Coats. MEADER G. PATTINGTON Principal The Class of 1958 is happy to say Thank you. Me. Pattlngton fer all you nave done to make our four years at OCS o happy and profitable. Board of Education We congratulate our Board of Education for their skillful planning of our fine and very practical school facilities—and especially for the national recognition given to the new Odessa Elementary School Building in the U. S. News World Report issue of February 7, 1958. That this prominent magazine chose the new building as a model of economy in both construction and operation must be a source of satisfaction to men who have served this community so well. We, too, like the good-looking simple lines of the new building, its well lighted classrooms and its combination gym-auditorium-cafeteria.. .and we want to add our compliments to the Board who made all this possible at such moderate cost. THE CLASS OF 1958 5 k _ Mr. Dolan, the tireless math monarch of O. (J. S., placing more fabulous marks in his big blue book. 2 The Juniors stare in rapt attention as Mr. Smith lectures on Shakespeare. The following year found us very busy indeed! Our Junior Play, Come Out Of Your Coma, directed by Mr. Smith, was enthusiastically received by the student body and most of the parents. We had a Junior Prom, Stardust, which proved to be a great success. Also, we had Elmira's Bob Michael bring his In the Mood show to o. c. s. Our senior year at last! We put on several record dances, and also a Senior Ball, Sayonara, and a Senior Play, Kiss and Tell. We'll never forget N. Y. C.; and then came graduation and the fond farewells to Odessa Central. 10 BONNIE ALEXANDER Senior Play Operetta..........................2 Chorus........................1 2,3 NYSSMA..........................3,3 Spring Festival Science Club......................1 Intramurals.......................1 Press Club........................3 Homemaking Club...................3 Playday PATTILU BERRY Operetta..........................1 Chorus........................1 2,3 NYSSMA........................1,2,3 Track.........................2,3,4 Intramurals...................2,3,4 Homemaking Club.................1,4 Library Club......................2 SHIRLEY ANN BEACH Chorus......................1,2,3,4 Band, Secretary,...................2,3 President..........................4 Student Council.................. , 3 Secretary..........................4 Press Club.........................2,3 Editor.............................4 Yearbook Staff.......................4 Operetta Accompanist...............J2.
