Class of 1957 CLASS OFFICERS J. Palmer, Secretary, F. Stone, President. M. Hosenfeld, Vice-President, Mr. Dolan, Advisor, R. Chapman, Treasurer. Class History J We the class of ’57, were introduced to our new role as high school students in our initiation by the Seniors, and we ended our busy Freshman year with a class picnic at Eldrige Park. During our Sophomore year, we earned money for our Senior trip by sponsoring a dance, “The Annual Sophomore Hop”, and a Senior-Faculty basketball game. We put on a successful play Cheaper By The Dozen directed by Mrs. Wilson, and we played host to the Seniors at our class picnic at Taughannock Falls. Seniors at last, it was our turn to initiate the Freshmen and this we did in a “grand manner” with a dance “Trial by Jury” to climax the big day. We spent the first half of the year raising money by selling stationery, magazines, and Christmas cards (incidentally, members of our class broke the record sales in stationery and magazine subscriptions). Our candy sales also prospered, and with the money we made from the Senior-Faculty game and our play, Hillbilly Weddin’, directed by Mr. Dolan, we were able to make our long awaited trip to New York City in the spring. 9
