BOYS BASKETBALL Although our team was qulte unsuccessful this year, we were entered In the Dlstrlct Tournament by taking second place ln the O- regon Trall Conference. We played Grass Valley, a No I te m ln the tournament and lost by a very small margln. At the beglnnlng of the year we lost two of our best players, but that did not dls- courage us. R. Jones TENNIS Our tennis team has good prospects thls year. Our courts have been lmproved conslderablyz They have been lengthened and wldened. New wlre fences have been put up and we have new nets. The Oregon Point System has glven letters ln basketball, baseball, volley ball, tennls hlklng, swlmmlng, horseback rldlng and bl- cycling. ln basketball, and volley ball, lnterclass games have been played. The Junlors won most of the games ln basketball. ln volley ball the Senlors and Junlor glrls tled for flrst place. Baseball lnterclass games have not been played yet. The Senior glrls of the class of '40 hope that the activltles of next year wlll be en- joyed as much as thls.
