JUNIOR CLASS PLAY The Junior Class under the direction of Mr Frank Shaw presented their class play Monday evening December lO l95l The play Here Comes Charlie was a three act farce comedy by Jay Tobias The cast of characters was as follows Nora Malone Cook at the Elliot home Marilyn Hannel Officer Tim McGrill Nora s sweetheart Dale Linman Mrs Fanny Farnham Larry s aunt by marriage Joan Lundell Larry Elliot A young businessman Lowell Brower Ted Hartley His old time college pal Vern Ogden Vivian Smythe Kersey Larry s fiancee DeLoris Cowlham Uncle Aleck Twiggs ln charge of Charlie Jim Meyer Charlie Hopps Larry s ward Sharon Larson Mrs Caroline Smythe Kersey Vivian s mother Mary Ella Youngren Mortimer Smythe Kersey Vivian s brother Danny Hansen Time the Present Place Larry Elliott s home an a suburb of St Louis Missouri The plot of the play and some highlights: Larry Elliot young broker thought he was becoming guardian of a small boy and was shocked to find he had taken a pretty seventeen-year-old girl to raise. Charlotte was called Charlie for short' therefore the error. Larry was engaged to the spoiled society girl Vivian Smythe-Kersey and was further bothered by a snobbish aunt. To have another female in the house a tomboy from the Ozarks at that added to his troubles. Neither Vivian nor the aunt was pleased by the turn of events' and when they started to scheme against Charlie some surprising things happened. PAGE FIFTY SIX
