61a 5 ffisfzfry Thirteen years ago, we seniors, with bright ex- pectant faces, presented ourselves at kindergarten to begin to learn our Readin', 'Ritin', and 'Rith- metic. Our teacher was Miss Kelch and her pupils were: Dorothy Albrecht, 'Glenn Bernhardt, Joan Coon, Clair Crowley, Joan Einspahr, James Frank- lin, Dick Gardner, Bob Hansen, Roger Hove, Don Jackson, Mary Lou Johnson, Dick Johnson, Donna Kallsen, James Klus, Don Konrady, Marilyn Mc- Bride, Dick Morr, Fayetta Murr, Phyllis Pearson, Bill Rex, Roger Ross, Robert Smith, Bob Watts, Robert Hedberg, Robert Anderson, Ray Neville and George Stevens. Moving on to first grade we gained Howard Gonnerman, Jack Gunderson, Don Sorenson, Duane Breon, Jerry Bruning and John Mayberry. Miss Aden was our teacher and how well we remember how we enjoyed school for now we got to go all day. Then to second grade where Miss Aaron was to steer us for our next year. Here we were joined by Patsy Brand, Royce Hannel, Glenna Jean Morrow, Donna Jean McElravy, Tillman McFarland, Charles Neville and Paul Seiler. Next across the hall to third grade with Miss Wallace as the teacher. That year our roll call in- cluded Beverly Witt and Douglas Glesmann. The highlight of this year was our postoffice which we made from orange crates or what-have-you. Miss Sutton was waiting for us in fourth grade. Not much excitement occurred during this year only that we had to duck once in a while so we wouldn't get hit by the blackboard erasers. However, Miss Sutton was a good teacher. It was a happy day for us when we moved up to fifth grade for now we were upstairs with the big kids. Miss Gordon was our teacher. We gain- ed Arda Lee Flogstad, Douglas Boerner, Dallas Rohlf, and Duane Breon, Duane having moved away wasn't with us in fourth grade but joined us again in the latter part of fifth grade. In sixth grade our teacher was Miss Zwiep. I-low well we all remember all the many themes we had to write!! This year we gained Leonard Nev- ille, Bob Moffitt and Mary Buchanan. Seventh grade was a very new experience for us, for now we were really in things. Why, we even had periods to study our assignments. George Hummel was our only recruit that year. , Eighth grade was a hard one and most of us spent our time studying. Alleen Lindquist joined us in eighth grade. Our freshman year really was a year full of parties. We especially remember the one Arda Lee had at Hallowe'en. Seems some of the older kids tried to crash it too, didn't they? That year we really grew, with twenty classmates added to our number: Gerald Bengford, Mary Bengford, Bill Bird, Robert Brown, Mathilda Bruns, Ramon Ding- es, Duane Einspahr, Beverly Fries, Hug-h Gore, Ferne Kessler, James Klus, Don Konrady Glenn Konrady, Alvera Lansink, Roger Neville, Audrey Schultz, Shirley Siebrecht, Clara Taphorn, Miriam Stephens and Carol Youngren. Now over to the otherbuilding. Wow! What fun. We even got to have some of our class parties with the older kids now. This year we gained Mar- tin Stover, Dick Carlberg and Raymond Huisenga. One of the highlights of our junior year was our class play, 'Spring Fever. This year we added Melvin Lindner, Jean Landgraf and Phyllis Schramm. And now we come to this our last year. We are proud of all that we have accomplished throughout our years of school and we hope that the Odebolt Community will be proud of us, as we finally reach our goal-our graduation. Twenty-tive

A. boys slap Mr. Brown on the back when they pass him in the halls 3 not .- ' to see Jim Barkley, Ronald Rex and Jim Turner , In football the Juniors had several boys who helped.. bring home the Maple Valley Conference Trophy. In Speech five of the six characters in the one act play were juniors and also many individual entries came from our class. The Tro- jan's 13 basketball victories were attained by the help of our representatives. Entries in the music' contest went through to the last contest, some of them juniors. This year's Junior 'Class was well represented in everything from athletics to music-which, in- cidentally, is a long stretch. We, the class of '50, contributed our help in more ways than one. Many times, however, ourwillingness was not always helpful. talking about what they did last night and what they are going to do tomorrow. As you can readily see, as classes go, We are top notch. The Sophomores of this year will have to really go to do all the things the class of '50 did this year. Our class officers were: First Semester: President, James Barkleyg Vice-President, Ruth Kesslerg Secretary-Treasurer, class of school activity too. I have often wondered what O. H. S. would be like without Howard Hoef- ling, George Hummel and Tom Bengford signing out to Coach every free period they haveg not to Twenty-six Margaret Bengford.
