Besides scholastic, sports. and social events, special edi- tions of the Crier are put out during the year. These editions are known to be very popular among the stu- dents. They are the Christ- mas issue, the April Fool's issue, and the Prom issue. Thank You From the Staff The Crier staff wishes to thank all who helped make the publication of the Crier a success. Those whom they want to thank are the re- porters, copy readers, proof- readers, typists, and the stu- dents who faithfully read the paper throughout the year. they especially want to t h a n k the advisors, Miss Duna Verich and Miss Mari- lyn Grebe, for their guidance' and effort. The staff has consistantly endeavored to put a cross section of student activities in permanent form. Work On Crier Headed l 'jQejnjeQfjpaa,jQ,,fW? B Enthusiastic Members Q. What is black and Reporters Kept Busy Reporting Cooney's News Every newspaper has to have capable reporters to re- port the current events in an interesting light. Their work is not easily defined. but they do the odd jobs of reporting - nothing spe- cial but all essential to a good and enjoyable newspaper. They are necessary to com- plete each editio n of the Crier. Some of the many re- porters who worked hard on this year's edition of the Crier were: Betty Anderson, Gale Frackelton, Dae Elert, Sue Counsell, Ann Higgins. Joyce Zimmermann, Lucetta Bloedow, and Lucy Freuden- berg. Wanted! Reporters Reporters are needed for Crier! Anybody interested in Not the least important of any newspaper are the heads of the departments and their assistants. The Social Editor, Anne Haertel, takes care of the Spotlight Senior column, Photographer, Jack Flory, has made an excellent pic- torial record of life at Cooney High. Sports Editor, Le Roy Pontzloff, and as- sistants, Pete Veum, Marion Nelson, Pat Lunde, and Carol Licht have given an interest- ing account of the different sports events that take place at Cooney. Head of Circula- tion department is Myrna Maasch who sees to it that the Criers are properly dis- t r i b u t e d to the various places. Proofreaders, Sally Warner and Bill Hastings, spend many long hours read- ing over the columns and checking them. The Advi- sors,, Miss Duna Verich and Miss Marilyn Grebe, are the capable advisors to the Crier staff. wanting to write should sin up for work on the Crier. Some of the jobs that you may be able to do are re- porting, taking pictures, typ- ing, or proofreading -- if in- terested watch for the an- nouncement that will tell when and where you should I sign up to work.
