X14 ,A As editor of the 1988 Legend, I have enjoyed putting this book of memories together for you. I have been a part of the annual staff for three years and each year has brought on new and exciting challenges. This year has brought on the most challenges yet, and hopefully you can see the ways we have tried to make this yearbook different for you. Spring quarter students were excited to get their 1987 annuals they had been waiting for all year. However, at the same time, the staff and Mrs. Hellums had already started on the 1988 Legend. Unless a person has been on the annual staff helshe cannot know how much hard work actually J 1 I I 1 f I, A, L. ,.+. t My' . s x-- xf H x, .0 .,-sfklfil 5: WN- ,H vw... an goes into putting a yearbook together. The theme and cover have to be decided, layouts drawn, copy written, and deadlines always have to be met. It seemed like every time this year staff members finished a page, another one was waiting for them. I just want to thank each member for all the work inside as well as outside the class. Without your dedication this annual would have never been possible. Mrs. Hellums is the one person who kept the staff going all year. She gave encouragement to each staff member and especially to me. Each time we had to stay late working on a deadline she was there. Every time we had to come in early she was also there. Thank you Mrs. Hellums for the guid- ance and support you have given me. Without you this yearbook would have never become a reality. For the students, I hope the staff has captured your school year in a way you can remember it best. When you look through the pages of the 1988 Legend in the years to come, l hope you can have the best Memories of l988! Kim Eley, Editor Clubs! 133

J ournalism Staff The Journalism Staff is a group of students that work long and hard hours to put the yearbook together. There are many days of drawing pages, cropping pictures, typing on the computer and most importantly, selling ads. If it were not for the advertisers, The Legend would not be possible. The advisor and editor hold a lot of responsibility. All the pages and pictures must be checked and rechecked by the advisor and editor before going to the plant in Texas, where the book is print- ed. As you can see, putting a yearbook together is not as easy as you think. When you are looking at and enjoying your yearbook you should think about all of the hard work and dedication each staff member performs. l.
