N I 0 R S P O Oolna Girls' basketball team is proud of the team, the coach and the hard earned victories of the year Losing several of the veteran players last year through graduation, the team began operations this year with a number of inexperienced players, but under the able guidance of Mr Patton they have annexed quite a few victories, to their credit Of the 22 games played 15 were won, 6 lost, with one tie A total of 652 points being amassed by Ocina while the opponents scored 555 Tournaments in which the team participated include The Elk C1ty Invitational where they were not too successful having been defeated in their second game, In the Greer County Tournament held in Mangum, February 3 L 5, they played three games, losing to Mhngum Girls in the finals For this second place honor they were awarded the runner up trophy The District, Regional, and State Tournaments will be played after this publication goes to press The team will be represented at the District Tournament, from there 999 because of his knowledge of basketball and his patience with them in their training This training will be beneficial in the years ahead For in the game of life as in the basketball game, the successful player respects the rules, practices fair play, and sportsmenlike conduct, accepts defeat without complaining, and success without boasting N I O R S P O 0cina's senior basketball boys have played 19 games Of the 19 games played 9 were won and 10 were lost we entered the invitational tournament played in Weatherford and also the county tournament held in Mangum we were unsuccess ful and lost our first game of the invitational to Friendship and in the county we lost the first game to Granite Due to print son the game to the fact this book must go to press, we will be unable our outcome in the district tournament Hager, the coacn,feels that we have had a successful sea believes it matters not so much who won the game, but how was played Knowing his sentiments the boys have all worked and worked hard for a good ball team Note The district tournament was played and won by Ocina boys 33 S E G I R L S ' R T In the team's estimation Mr. Patton, the coach, is 'tops,' S E B O Y S ' R T Mr. - .
