The music department of Ocina High School is under the dir ectlon of Mrs Clark Penn Every grade in school is represented in this organization An organization which began last year was the triple trio Four members of the original group graduated last spring New members chosen for this year were Joan Hood Marlene Kelsey, Betty Jo Bowman and Mary Jo Connelly The triple trio is composed of first soprano Estelle John son Joan Hood and Helen Joy Adair, second soprano Marry Jo Connelly, Marlene Kelsey, and Jimmie Hatter, alto Betty Jo Bowman Carrie Lou Baca and Delores Harris These girls are poise and personality They are proud of the fact that the triple trio is a member of the Federated Music Club of America The triple trio appeared before the Teachers Convention the Rotary Club, Yiwanis Club Cecelian Club the Veterans of Foreign wars and in several assembly programs Soloists to appear this year have been Carrie Lou Baca Estelle Johnson, Helen Joy Adair Delores Harris, and Jimmie Hatter Our glee club consists of thirty one girls These girls pre sented a very beautlful Christmas program which received much praise The girls were dressed in dark skirts with white blouses each girl carried a lighted candle Numbers on the program were presented by the glee club triple trio and the soloists The outstanding event of the glee club each year is their annual spring concert The group wears pastel formals and each g1rl carries a nosegay of flowers The program consists of a wide variety of rusic Miss Jlmmie Hatter sang at the dedication of the Baptist Church in Hobart Her voice was broadcast over the Hobart net work All of the girls have enjoyed this year of music 26 M U S I C 3 1 , A s 9 0 ' very attractive when they sing, because they have stage presence, ' 1 X s 9 , o 9 Q . i ' 9 , ' o ' J
