E S H M Would you like to know the biggest, brainiest and best natured class in Oclna High School? Then let me introduce to you the Freshmen Class To prove we are the biggest The class roll numbered twenty one at the opening of school Then three weeks later Jimmie Dale Shaver threw aside his cotton sack and trudged back to Join us bringing the total to twenty two But alas' The second six weeks we lost Mary, Mary Berry that is, to a neighboring school Perhaps the reason this class shows up with such superlative brllliancy is our choice of class officials To Wit President Darrel Horne Secretary Betty Horne We demonstrated our good nature at initiation Some fun, eh' Especially to the upper classmen, but we really had a good time, too, being called upon to exhibit our most worthy talents includ ing everything from Baby Crawl to JuJ1tsu and the latest dance steps However, we reaped our reward for our sportsmanship when we were entertained by the upper classmen at a party that evening On the night of December 25rd, we had an enjoyable Christmas party, chaperoned most graciously by our sponsor, Mrs Hassle Taylor Most everyone was there We had lots to eat but I'm afraid to say what happened after they had eaten L1nda's and Barb- ara' s candy Although we have been ignored by the Seniors, pitied by the Juniors, and snubbed by the Sophomores, we are still ugoing strong' and we intend to be the strongest class that has ever gone forth from Oolna High School No one, who is acquainted with the fresh- men, will doubt that this class is destined for great things Tearlsn and Wwisdom Teeth, two plays are being studied now for presentation, soon 19 F R E N Vice-Prssldent--Elbert Patton 8 l I - V H
