4 H CLUB The Ocxna 4 H Club was organized January 5 1948 The officers elected for the coming year were Presi dent George Tatyrek Vice President Neil Quattlebaum Secretary Norma McMurtry The sponsors chosen for the boys and girls divisions were Mr Earl Hager and Mrs W C Quattlebaum The year has been a very successful one and many of the members won high awards and trxps for their efforts In the Greer County Fair the following brought back to the Ocina High School these Awards Marvin Smith Grand Champion in livestock and Charles Tatyrek Grand Champion in livestock Norma McMurtry sent to the state and clothing division for girls Norma also won the State a ward of S50 on her 4 H Club record book lmogene Mayfield also sent several articles to the State Fair in the canning and home improvement division for girls She also won Grand Champion in health and won a trip to the State Round Up at Stillwater Oklahoma where she was placed xn the Red Ribbon group George Tatyrek won more ribbons in the boys group than any other boy in our high school George also won Grand Champion in the county boys appropriate dress contest He in turn won a trip to the State Round Up at Stillwater Oklahoma where he won Grand Champion in the state The 4 H Club won the county 4 H Lovett Cup again for the third year This is based on complete exhibits on all classes, the greatest number of points on exhibits, and the neatest booth in the county - . , - Z . - . - . : , . . . . . fair numerous articles which she exhibited in the canning . , I . . . . , . . , . . . - . , , . .. .. 7
