The authority for establishing the policies of a school rests with the Board of Education. The power to execute those policies is delegated to the Superintendent of Schools, the executive officer of the board. The group above are shown in session dellberating of one of the many items of business which occupies many hours of time. Election to the Board is an honor and a major responsibility. A school can be no better than the leadership which the community provides in board members. S

' SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The senior class of 1954 entered Ooheyedan High School as freshmen with a class of 19 and finished the year with a class roll of 19. when the sophomore year began, the enrollment was 21. The two new members were Orphalie Kolterman and Evelyn Buysman. We remained with 21 members throughout the year. At the beginning of the Junior year we start- ed with 18. Eugene A1berts,C11fford Miller, and Orphalie Kolterman had dropped out. In the spring Doris Van Klootwyk Joined us. This made the membership 19. Dur- 1 the year Norman Ferguson, Meldn mbree, and Roger Smidt left, leaving the enrollment 16. ,f When the senior year began, there were 1? members, as Lawrence Peters enrolled. This leaves the Ocheye- dan graduates of 1954 with a graduating class of 17.
