Halpern — Coordinator p Spinelli — Coordinator SCIENCE The Science Department offers courses in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at three levels of intensity. There are sections in non-Regents, Regents and Advanced Placement in these areas of study. Also available at the regents level of study is Earth Science. Non-Regents areas of study include studies of the enrivonment and an overview of all sciences. General Science. MATHEMATICS s M. Rudolph -Chairperson The mathematics department at OHS offers a very diverse curriculum in which any student should be able to find a challenge to his her intellect. Courses offered include consumer mathematics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus and advanced placement calculus. Most courses are available in two or three levels of difficulty. The computer facility is outstanding. It has a Digital mini computer with time sharing terminals and IBM PC microcomputers. Programming languages taught include Basic, Fortran and Pascal. The department sponsors Mathlete teams which consistently score near the top in Nassau County.
