With her, reigned the court of princesses: Carolyn Butler, Patsy Hobbs, Shirley Davenport and Janelle Carpenter. I can still remember the night ofthe game and how the queen looked as she entered the field. Of course when it came time for the crowning, Art Lawrence, last year's A.S.B. This program was inaugurated because of the desire of boys and girls in high schools to sponsor a proiect in which the entire school could participate and which was diliferent from the American Junior Red Cross Gift Box Program. Since 1948, 1,874 school chests have been shipped to 25 other Red Cross societies. The chests have been particularly appreciated in international disaster areas where schools and cl'lildren's institutions have been affected. EZUB Wi Schools in disaster areas and other defvasted regions throughout the world are often in need of school, recreational, and health supplies. Junior Red Cross members are given the opportunity to help these schools function normally again by making and filling wooden chests with these materials. Not only do chest supplies meet a great demand, but the thoughtfulness, interest, and concern of those giving them promotes greater understanding. The clubs and organizations of OCHS mode possible two chests. 1 5 J Y., ,, !ftj1',! C 'N -OL X' j ,.... . 3 . D my l .gl ' ,fag 'f my H rigi, . Her plans include attending San Bernardino Valley College and the University of Redlands. Gilbert lnskeep, our ASB President, earned a 2.85 grade point average thereby achieving the honor of being our Salutatorian. Gil expects to attend the University of California at Berkeley to maior in physics. We must mention two very close runners-up: Chin Lan Park and lrene White, who came out with identical 2.82 grade averages.
