With the loss of last year's first four singles players, this was definitely a rebuilding year for Oceana . Last year's number five man, Dan Enbom, has taken over the number one position with newcomers Dave Lipman and Lorenzo Gonzales holding down two and three positions. Other singles players include Allen Casentini, Rick Martindale, and Mark Day. Last year, second doubles team, Gary Burch and Tom Bishop, have moved into this year's number one doubles team with Genaro Molina and Mel Melliza being number two. Also on the team was Dan Delago, Steve Sui, Tom Randolph, and Rohan Piyadasa.

Led by Vince 0'Shea and Rob Bishop, the young but experienced 1977 golf team proved to be one of the best ever fielded by Oceana High. Competing ina sport that receives little publicity or spectator support, the team, domi- nated by Sophomores and Juniors, was able to play even with some of the older, more experi- enced teams in the league. As for years to come, with only one graduating Senior on the team, the Sharks appear to be ready to chal- lenge for the championship in 1 978 . GOLF TEAM-Front Row: Vince O'Shea, Mark Keneally.
