BACK ROW: Hugh McMonigle, Steve Vergara, John McNicoIl, Juleen Robinson, Wayne Edhammer, Tom Kashack, Doug Kelly. For OHS, the 1977 swimming season was the close of an era. No longer must the team travel in pack- ed cars to another school to practice . With the existing group of talented swimmers able to practice in Oceana's new swimming complex, the future of the Oceana swimming program looks very bright. The 1977 varsity, led by senior and team captain Jody Robinson, made a fine showing, despite the loss of many fine athletes from last year's varsity and championship froshfsoph team . Wayne Edhammer, Debbie Conway, Steve Vergera, Tom Kashak, and frosh diver Keith Hefner also aided in the varsity effort. The frosnfsoph team had a very tough act to follow, namely their 1976 NPL championship. However, led by veterans Patty Meehan, Dave Smith, Darryl Johnson, Juleen Robinson, and promising newcomers Criag Callihan and Doug and lVlitchiko Dawkins, the '77 froshfsoph swimmers put forth, in every meet, a strong, competitive performance .
