Not Pictured: Kim Carter, Coach Mike Lucero. illl'.P'L 'hamp The 1976 frosh football team achieved the dis- tinction of becoming 0ceana's first unbeaten, championship football team . The season began with onesided victories over Alta Loma C37-69, Parkway C21-89, and South- wood C35-65, continued with one point wins over Westborough and Westmoor, and climaxed with re- sounding victories over Jefferson l33-6J and Terra Nova C34-73 . Oceana was anchored offensively by linemen Bill Svozil and John Mulac, by receivers Derrick Horton and Gary Bester, and by the backfield combination of Pete Herzog and Tony Kerlegan, with Kerlegan amassing over 900 yards rushing and scoring 11 touchdowns. The defense was led by Bill Svozil, Earl Bradley, Alphonso Miranda and Nick Taylor. Oceana's championship frosh team was a team of e balance , with many hardworking individuals, each of whom has a bright football future ahead ofthem .
