IN TRIB UTE TO Clifford Lint, U.S. Navy O.S.H.S. - 1965 With a smile and a wave of his hand He boarded a plane to a foreign land For God and country to take his stand. He said, I've a job to do And when it is all through I'll be coming home to you. He came home as he said, it is true, But not as he was expected to------- He came draped in red, white, and blue. So young, so good, so much fun, His life ended ere it'd scarcely begun, The week's casualty number twenty-one A grateful nation his tribute led As sailors bore him with measured tread To where his blanket of flowers was spread Stoutest hearts tears did betray As Taps” slowly faded away For this medic home to stay. He accomplished in his brief life span More than most during a long life can Because of love for God and his fellowman. Christ's example he did comprehend And following it to the end He gave his life for a friend. --Hazel R. White
