Howard PHOTOGRAPHER: Mr. Robert Endt Getting acquainted. . . Achieving our goals.. . Hours of studying... MEMORIES....... These and many others that come so close to every heart.. . .the triumphs and failures... the joys and sorrows... the laughter and tears... all play their part... Enjoying life... As we leave Ocean Springs High School - temporarily for some, permanently for others we realize that what we want to remember often happened so quickly and simply that we are not certain that it happened at all. We remember the pep rallies, being Number 1, Twine Time , cramming for exams, the friendships, the glad‘moments, the sad moments, Homecoming, the Senior and Junior plays, work together, our fun, our serious moments, our light ones... each a part and yet a whole. A bit reluct- ant, but with a sigh of relief, we look with confidence and hope to new and perhaps brighter horizons. Our mem- ories linger on.... DEDICA TION The senior class of 1966 takes pride in announcing the dedication of its annual to a man who has been a continuous inspiration to the students of Ocean Springs High School. He has devoted much time and energy to various school activities, attempting to make Ocean Springs High a more enjoyable place for its students and faculty. His teaching ability, his guidance, and his special interest in Ocean Springs are but a few of the reasons for our choice. This dedication is only a very small token of our fondness and apprecia- tion for our coach, advisor, and friend------Mr. Hugh L. Pepper. 4 f ADMINISTRA TION BOARD OF EDUCA TION As we face the future, we often look back to the past to review our thoughts and memories of the men who led us through our most treasured years..... CICERO Ocean Springs is a city with a wealth of historic background. Here the Senior class officers of 1966 pose near a rustic gate in Lovers' Lane. The Senior class officers: Stephen Rasor, President; Brenda Blocker, Vice-President; Virginia Menasco, Secre- tary; Margo Ross, Treasurer; and Terry Price, Reporter, have led their class in a busy, bustling year. As the first class to graduate from the new High School the Seniors leave behind many memories-another victorious year for football, Homecoming floats, and dances, the Sen- ior class supper, career day, the frenzied studying for mid-term, cheering at Basketball games, the Senior play, the Prom and banquet, and finally-graduation. 12 SENIORS 13 14 IN MEMORIAM Words can never express the feelings that we, the Senior Class of 1966, have for our beloved classmate, Stephen Parker. We feel that Mr. and Mrs. Parker expressed this idea best in the following letter addressed to the Senior Class: Thank you for including Stephen in your thoughts and hearts this year. You have made it possible for him to keep a promise to us. On your Junior High graduation day he caught me crying, and he knew why the tears were falling. He promised to walk down that aisle on graduation day, 1966. We knew that nothing but a miracle could make his promise come true. The miracle is in your love for him and in your making him a part of the things you do. When you think of Stephen, remember the simple and cheerful greeting he had for everyone. The deep faith that he had enabled him to remain so even until the -end. He had a motto that he lived and died by. It was only three words, but they sustained him in his darkest hour. We would like to share them with you: 'God knows best.' 16 BRENDA ANN ALLEN Love makes die world go round.
