97 . 1963 Tlie Class of 1963 of Ocean Springs High School presents Ocean Springs ,Mississippi THE GREYHOUND courtesy OF BILOXI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOREWORD We, the 1963 Senior Class, hope that just as the peaceful beauty of this bayou scene is so typical of the Gulf Coast, this annual in future years will serve as a reminder of the years spent in Ocean Springs High School. 2 We, the Senior class of 1963, dedicate the Greyhound to a man who, though now retired, has done an excellent job with the Ocean Springs High School band In his ten years at Ocean Springs he has won the love and respect of those who have played under his direction. It is for his contribution that we dedicate this yearbook to Dr. Harry J. Kanady. 3 More problems????? A toast to the great Seniors! It's almost over.. . Two happy couples!! STUDENT ASSISTANTS 93 CLASS PROPHECY Today as we stroll along the streets of Future Land, we will take a peek at what the members of the class of '63 are doing. Our first stop will be dear old O. S. H. S. We find sitting at the principal's desk, Jerry Hire with Brenda Scharr, Teresa Brechtel, Mary Ellen Benton, and Sheila Webb as teachers that have been added to the faculty. We find, as we walk through the school, Bill Lee and Thurman Rainey teaching in the Vocational Department. We also find Jerry Brewer as band director, and Cynthia Illich as Choir Director. Friday night brings the usual football games, and on the field we find Dub Saucier as coach with Jimmy Cook, Jack Milton, and Mike Catchot still supporting the team from the stands. While at the games, we find that Lloyd Hughey and Barry Holland have been signed up to play with the Harlem Globetrotters. The victory dance has as its feature Bonnie Purdy, who teaches the group different dance steps. Her boss, A1 Clark, who owns a chain of dance studios has employed as secretaries Jo Ann Cox, Dolly Bechtel, Martha Seymour, and Sally Parker. As we travel down the path of Future Land, we come upon a medical clinic. In- side we find Dr. Mike Impey with his assistants Lucille Spell, Faye jalanivich, Glenda Miller, and Debbie Baughker. Down the hall we find Kathy Impey, a psychiatrist, and Mary Jordan, a speech therapist. In the children's ward we find Jeanne Ragland and Barbara Rairigh very calmly tending to the little patients. In the lab we find Charlotte Mayo, Brenda Beaugez, Linda Patano, and La Vern Bond diligently working to find a drug that will cure short statures and bowed legs. As we continue down the path, we stop a few minutes to listen to the music that is ringing from the school taught by Lanelle Dunn and Nancy White. We have come to the end of the path in Future Land, but still have not heard from all our students of the class of '63. We asked around and found that Billy Dubuisson and Bucky Jakins are now drawing cartoons for Walt Disney, while Billy Gamble and Butch Ezell have gone into partnership in a new car manufacturing company known as Sweet Potato Corporation. Terrie Uhland is the owner of the Peppermint Lounge, and A1 Gombos and Robert Davis have organized a Confirmed Bachelors' Club in Ocean Springs. Juanita Dolan and Toni Rae Catchot are happily married and settled with their families, while Joe Miller, Johnny Harris, and Marvin Anglin are sailors under the command of Admiral Frank Hunter. Our last account of Ricky Christmas shows him in Seattle, Washington, and Enid Redding is still at the Pic Quic. With the satisfaction of knowing what everyone is doing we turn from the land of Future to return to the land of Present. 94 ADVERTISING Compliments of ELLZEY'S HARDWARE Biloxi and Pascagoula Compliments of AETNA FINANCE COMPANY Compliments of Compliments of E-Z FINANCE COMPANY MIRIAM'S BEAUTY SALON Biloxi, Mississippi Latest in Hair Styles ROBINSON USED CARS 827 West Division Biloxi, Mississippi Contact Jim Welch Ocean Springs Representative ID 5-2381 GULF PARK ESTATES Bottling Company Phone ID 2-5637 Compliments of 3° 604 Lameuse Biloxi, Mississippi Compliments of W.
