Varsity basketball captain Jerry Fadden and Coach Dixie Howell dis- cuss plans for the game. Basketball The 1961-62 basketball season unveiled one of the most exciting teams in New Jersey, the Ocean City Red Raiders. Led by Coach Dixie Howell and their aggressive captain ,lerry Fad- den, the Raiders proved to be really tough com- petitors. This year's tremendous record was the result of a great uteami' effort. ln no skirmish did one player dominate the game, but rather the five Raiders on the court and the players on the bench combined to consistently bring home the victory. Ocean City once again re- tained the Cape-Atlantic League crown as well as played sensational ball in the N.,l.S.l.A.A. Tournament. Recognition is certainly due to Dixie Howell and all the members of the var- sity squad. We can not overlook the fine play of the ,l.V. team, led by Coach John Camarote, or the Freshman team, coached by Mr. William Kupersmith. These two squads with their up and coming players will, undoubtedly, provide Ocean City Raiders with winning teams for years to come.
