Basketball LTHOUGH they failed to annex any championships the school can boast of a successful basketball team and players of a hard scrapping variety On every occasion they put up a hard fought clean sportsmanship exhibition Out of the 21 games they won 14 Many of their opponents ranked high in this section and in the state They defeated at least once every team on their schedule that they played twice or more Trenton and Palmyra were two that went undefeated They each were played but once Without a doubt the team next year will be a world beater as only one member Freddy Mecouch will be lost bv graduatlon but with the reserve string the guard berth will not be a dillicult one to fill The remainder of the that they have played together If the signs prove to be true Ocean City high should have the best team that the school has es er put on the floor Coach Evans has worked hard to produce the team in the past season and the result was a team that he was justly proud of coaching Captain Adellizzio and Lepore were the chief cause of worry on the part of their opponents guards Between them they contributed most of the team s points Stevens filled the pivot position doing his share of point gathering alternating with Schanze the school s elongulated center man Carey, Mecouch and Taccarino were always on the job when an unwary visiting forward attempted to break into the scoring column keeping their opponents scores flftq szx team will be unchanged and next season will make the second and third year Y . , Y . ,
