929 Carav Jumor Class Hzstory I the Class of 1930 started our Freshman year great ln number A we were not allowed to organwe our year was uneventful save for a beach party in the spring Everyone attended and had a marvelous time and good eats XVe returned for our Sophomore cruise fewer in number but just as full of pep and spirit as ever We organ17ed late in September and elected our officers for the year Winfield Dougherty became our President Charles Adelizlxo vice presldent Cynthia VanHorn secretary and B111 Townsend treasurer Miss Bradley was asked to be the captain of our Sophomore voyage Because we were so busy getting in trim for our Jumor year not much was accom pllshed although we had a Movie Benefit which was a huge success Almost everyone was back for the Junior year We organized almost lmmediately Charles Adelizzio came off with the Presidential honors amidst the cheers of his classmates Cynthia Vanl-Iorn vice president Ann 'VlcCullough became our sec etary and B111 Townsend was found to be honest enough by past experiences to again become the class treasurer Mlss Forbes was appointed Class Advlsor Our first thought was to raise money for the big event of our Junior year the Jumor Prom Accordingly we gave a Moxie Benefit at the Strand Theatre which was a financial success Our next big problem was the selection of our class rings A r1ng committee conslstmg of John Cooper Rose Castaldl Margaret McCann Cynthia Vanl-lorn and Ann McCullough were appointed by the President to select a few rmgs from vs hlch our r1ng was to be chosen bv the class From five rings picked by the committee a seal r1ng won the popular acclaim of the class because of its durability as well as 1ts attractiveness This r1ng IS octagonal 1n shape w1th Old English O C in center surrounded by th words Ocean City High School 1930 After our vacation we began a drive for funds Several standing com mlttees were appointed The Hrst of which was the Finance Committee con slstlng of Rose Castaldx Chalrman John Teasdale Treasurer Cynthia Van Horn Mildred Trout and John Lepore Mov1e Benefit Mary Sullivan Chair man Jeannette Stainton and John Cooper Jumor Dance Vera Dav1s Chair man Alyce VanSant and Allen Corson Cake Sale Cynthia Vanl-lorn Mtldred Trout and Mary Sullivan Candy Lenore Maxwell Robert Stevens and Ralph Little Charles Adel1z71o and Ann McCullouOfh The first event on our pro gram was a Movie Beneit whlch was held on March 6 at the Moorlvn Theatre and was quite a success The following Saturday we gave a cake sale at Stain ton s which proved even more successful Then the Candy Committee came into action during Jumor week and sold our complete supply of candy With a Junior l-lop in the near future the Junior treasury IS steadily rising toward our goal of S800 before June Not only in class spirit do the Juniors excell but also in school spirit the Juniors are vuell represented on all our sehool athletic teams In football we have Charles Adelxlzlo Captain elect fand believe us Charles IS some athletel John 1 epore John Carev leve Carey Walter Camp Ferdinand Tac Form tee o . 1 ' I 1 A .. e .
