In my judgment this past year has been a good one in all respects. To be sure, we ' ve had our differences in regard to certain tenure decisions, the selection of the Com- mencement speaker, and a few other matters, but candor and mutual respect have prevailed, just as it has always been very much a part of the Occidental scene. I trust that in long years to come you will continue to remember the College for what it is and strives to be, as we will remember the Class of 1976 for what it has been and will yet become. You have our confidence and very best wishes in whatever the future may bring and for the future which each of you will make for yourselves. Richard C.
