TRACK The Oblong Track Team was made up of 30 boys The followrng boys lettered m the sprlng sports Larry Horath Dave Goff Bud Cates Bob Maxwell Bob Johnson Bob Inboden Paul Schlosser and Charles Alspach Thrrteen Freshmen compound a strong Frost Team The Team competed atD1eter1ch Olney Marshall Charles ton Casey Brrdgeport Newton and Champargn Two boys Schlosser and Inboden managed to Jump over 19 feet Bob also hrgh Jumped 5 8 Horath was the 440 man on the Mrle Relay Team Goff was a shot rn the arm rn most of the events Goff annexed a total of 22i pornts rn one meet at Dreterrch He had frrst rn the 100 low hurdles 880 Relay Team 220 and 2nd rn the broad Jump and shot put Cates was the Drscus thrower hrs hrgh of 122 6 was hrgh for the school Maxwell ran the low hurdles 100 and relay team Johnson pole vaulted up to 10 3 as well as garned pornts rn the hrgh hurdles and htgh Jump Alspach was the team s htgh hurdles and 880 runner The hrghlrght of the year came when Bob Inboden qualrfred over 16 other boys to represent Oblong rn the State l-hgh Jumpmg event at Champargn Other top runners on the team was Paul Becktell rn the 100 and relay team Paul was a late comer due to an earlrer stomach trouble Earl Bloom was good rn the 220 and low hurdles Duane Abraham ran a good mrle Next year s team wrth the good crop of The only Senrors are and Maxwell These they were wlth the Track was started back could be grven a boost thrs year s Freshmen Horath Johnson Bloom boys wrll be mrssed as team both years srnce Sponsored by DR.
