Senior Class History One fine day ln September of 1948, thirteen ambitious, but scared pupils trodded to Oberon High School for the first time Their names were Don Knutson, Donna Graham, Orville Compton, Curtis Thompson, Carol Christiansen, Jean Roberts, June Roberts, Sonja Schmid Gene Woolley Jlmmv Nelson, Orris Sorenson, Gladys Sorenson and Luella Kelly Our faculty the first year was Mr and Mrs William Kupper The first week was a nightmare for some and lots of fun for others Why? Initxatxon course A party was given at the end of the week to accept us into Oberon High School At the beginning of our Sophomore year, we found Orris and Gladys to the Dakota Lutheran High School Patty transferred here frm Orris dropped out of school and went to work in a Devlls Lake orderly When we came back to school for our Junxor year, we foun had entered school at Maddock That year two one act plays we the school The names were Duma Dora ' and All Carrs to We also put on a Junior Senior banquet and prom These were enjoyed by everybody A basketball banquet was also given by of the players This year, our Senior year, we have ten pupxls altogether Donna, Don, Orville, Curtis, Carol, June, Jean, Soma, and Ge have a prom and banquet this year lf the Jumors don't get laz leave with the feeling that we have been the best class that ev diplomas from Oberon High School 14 . i . Last Wall and Testment We, the 1952 graduating class of Oberon High School, ln the county of Benson, and state of North Dakota, being without doubt of sane mind and good judgment, do hereby legally declare this our last will and testament To the faculty, we will a papler mache bas relief of a worm in the act of turning, made of flunk slips, also, an engraved testimonial signed by our doctor to the effect that we have come through four years of struggle with an unexcelled record in the matter of heart actions, cranial expansion, weight reduction, and synthetic complexlons To the Junior Class, we will our seats in the assembly with the slightly used gum under them To the Sophomore Class, a locket containing a llst of our mistakes as a class and the large trunk containing the records of our scholastic, athletic social, and individual attalnments To the Freshmen, or beginners' department, our class picture, for their inspiration when the way seems hard and long Sonja wills her ability to stick to one boy to Audrey Thompson.
