Debby Chess, Pyle lnn's cook for the night, dishes out an intriguing QD new concoction. Co-Upers Do-It-Themselves The do-it-yourself movement thrives in the Oberlin student Co-ops, which endorse individual expression in all fields from politics to domestic science. Democratically conducted house meet- ings, with weighty consideration of the lease or arguments over the motion to serve saucers with cups, determine Co-op policy and develop politic- ally astute citizens. Exotic Casseroles, which leave behind an uncountable number of dirty pots, and homemade bread are products in which Co-op culinary artists take pride. Informal recre- ation contrived by the Committee for Spontane- ity is most frequently folk-singing, accompanied by the music from improvised music-makers, but Co-op also sponsors traysliding parties and a Creative Arts Festival. -Nancy Franklin 9: Et i Dinner table conversation at Grey Gables is never dull-and seldom very quiet.

More interesting than a board job is an assistantship in lab-particularly if it's all en francais. A floor boy's lot is not a happy one. Oberlin Perspective: Since nobody else is fool enough to get up at 6:40, breakfast workers find time to study on the job.
