The Y Cabinet, shown above, meets in the Lounge with the faculty advisory board. The Cabinet includes members from all the Y's committees and interest groups and is the main policy determiner. 28 In its sixty-eighth year on campus, the YMCA welcomed students and faculty of all religious back- grounds to continue its program of worship, study, community service, social action, and recreation. The Y's activities are planned by two groups: the Student Cabinet and the Faculty Advisory Board. They are carried out by twenty-eight committees and special interest groups, fully half of which are administered jointly with the YWCA. These corn- mittees are organized in four commissions, on cam- pus religious activities, national and international affairs, community activities, and campus service ac- tivities. Y members started two new groups this year: Archways, a series of daily devotional pieces, and a seminar on higher education. The seminar group offered a chance to make a study of the aims and objectives of a liberal arts education. Faculty mem- bers were invited to provide counsel and present materials for this seminar to study. Other activities range from devotional cell groups to the Y open Forum with the Chance Creek Committee offering an opportunity to get away from it all. The campus Y belongs to the Ohio state organization of Y's, the Geneva Region of student Y's, the National Inter- collegiate Christian Council, and the WVorld Student Christian Federation centered in Geneva. In October the club was represented at a sailing meet at Denison and took fourth place. During the rest of the year other delegations from the group competed in races with teams from all over the state.. Many of the group's members had, never been in sa sailboat before joining the club.

This group works with a statistical expert in polling students on a variety of sub- jects, local, state, national, and international. The results of the polls are published in the Review. The commission also includes a student-faculty committee, a summer jobs committee, and a recreation committee. . RIGHT: Dr. A. Powell Davies in an afternoon discussion dur- ing the second session of the Religious Conference. The con- ference was held in three ses- sions this year with Dean Liston Pope opening the series, and Dean lhfilliam Faulkner deliver- ing the closing address. One of the committees operating jointly with a YYV group, the Religious Conference Committee, sponsors this annual activity, planned jointly by College and Theolog.
