President's Address What is it that makes Oakwood so special? - a lot of things: for in- stance: tty Our Divine Origin: The prophetess, Ellen White, personally visited here to remind us of that. 121 Our Natural Beauty: Twelve hundred acres of radiant verdure are a joy to behold. Q35 Our Cultural Heritage: We are the mecca and repository of black Adventist society. Q49 Our Wide Acceptance: We have students from forty states in the U.S. and thirty-eight countries abroad. 157 Our Academic Viability: O.C.'s expanding curriculum produced 219 graduates in 1983. C63 Our Spiritual Atmosphere: The Bible is still our primary text -the fundamental guide for the life of our growing campus community. t7l Our Family Ties: Friendships formed at Oakwood are truly forever. The pages which follow reflect the life-style and joys of this special community. I trust that these scenes will provide fond memories for those of you who have already walked our grounds, inspiration for those who now occupy our dorms and classrooms and an irresistible pull for you who are yet on the way. C. B. Bock President
