When most people think of International Club, they think of a group of people who stand around and talk funny. This accusation is untrue. International Club is for those students who feel that learning a new language is an interesting way to learn about other cultures. In order to be a member one must be or must have been a member of a foreign language class. When one is involved in International Club, he or she will be responsible for attending several homeroom meetings. At the first meeting, the club chose its officers. The officers for this year are Tereasa Barnes (representing Spanish) and Staci Disney (representing French). The second meeting was to plan cultural events. The club chose to invite a girl from Argentina to speak at a homeroom meeting and to attend classes for that day. The subject for the next meeting was a fund raising project. The International Club decided to sell Katherine Beich candy in order to raise money for their March 21 trip to Indianapolis. In Indianapolis, the students will visit the Art Museum and Union Station. The sponsors for International Club are Norma Anderson. Spanish and Biology Teacher, and Arlene Borberly. French Teacher 13
