Q O Ray Stringfield, V. Pres.; Gary Trimmell, President; Nancy Grimm, Secretary; Dick Martoglio, Treasurer; Mr. Swengel and Mr. Schnelle Senior class advisors. SENIOR HISTORY Kl In September of 1959, ninety-five wild and scared Greenies entered Oak-wood Township High School. We entertained the upperclassmen on initiation day with our gunny sacks and bib overalls and the rest of the year with our ridiculous antics. It didn't take us long to figure out where to go next, but it took a lot of effort to figure out something to do next to get in trouble. As Sophomores, it was OUR turn to initiate and everyone had a smearin' good time at the initiation party. Also that year, our part in the Homecoming Assembly was Past and Present Proms.” Our Junior year was, at the very least, an active one. Our Junior Play, Bells on Their Toes, was quite a success as was our magazine sales campaign. All the money that we had earned that year went into the Junior-Senior Prom. Our theme was Moonlight and Roses and we don't know whether there was any moonlight that night, but there were roses by the dozen. As Seniors, we have sold candy, Christmas cards and washed cars to earn money for our Senior trip. Our class has been well represented these past four years. Our officers were: Presidents; Bill Sharpf, Steve Meade, and Gary Trimmell; Vice-Presidents Presidents; Steve Meade, Gary Timmell, Judy Sloan, and Ray Stringfield; Secretaries; Linda Gutterridge and Nancy Grimm; Treasurers; Leonard Hathaway and Dick Martoglio. As a Junior, Dona Jenkins was Vice-President of the Student Council and Leonard Hathaway was Parliamentarian, and now as Seniors, Judy Sloan is President and Flo Anne Fuller is Parliamentarian. Our boys are quite active in sports as is witnessed by the number of letter-men. They are Marvin Duden, Dale Miller, Bill Sharpf, Frank Schafer, Dick Martoglio, Daryl Smith, Steve Arnold, Steve Meade, Joe McGlaughlin, Ron Presswood, Clyde Corzine, Dave Slade, Sam Wynn and C. J. Oakwood. It should also be mentioned that Marvin Duden holds the Vermilion County high jump record of 5 foot 11 1 2 inches and Ron Presswood won the State pole vault contest with a vault of 12 foot 6 inches. Our Homecoming attendants were: Freshman; Dona Jenkins; Sophomore, Dona Jenkins; Junior, Linda Gutterridge; and Senior Attendants, Linda Gutterridge, Nancy Grimm, and Charlene DeRay with Dona Jenkins reigning as Miss Victory. Dona Jenkins and Pat Tanner represented our class for three years as cheerleaders, and Judy Sloan for one year. We, the class of '63 have had a lot of fun and learned a lot and wish all future Seniors the best of luck at Oakwood Township High School. 10
