A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL As a pictorial history of a year of school, your high school annual is indicative of each individual's participation in the life of the school community. However, your picture shows that you had the opportunity to be an effective and contributing member, not the extent of your efforts. The members of your group and your advisor will remember those students with special pleasure and pride who gave largely of their time, ability, and effort to further the interests of the group. The bigger community that you live in after graduation will profit from such training because it is the best possible preparation for working with adult organization. 4

DEDICATION We, the Annual Staff of 1961-1962, dedicate this issue of the Acorn to John B. McNeill. It can only be used to show part of our appreciation for the time and patience he has given to the Junior classes here at Oakwood Township High School as an advisor. Little do we realize the work he has contributed in making the Junior-Senior Proms a success. Only the Juniors can appreciate this part of his work or even know about it, but I am sure that everyone realizes how hard he works here. He is also noted for his jokes although they aren't always funny. 3
