SENIOR CLASS HISTORY It seems like our eight years of grade school lasted for an eternity, but as September of 1959 rolled around, we took our first steps into a new adventure at Oakwood Township High School. After getting used to our new surroundings and learning Where do I go next, we faced initiation. We Greenies got a lot of attention and discovered that we were to be known as underclassmen. Officers elected for the year were President, Carol Grimm; Vice-President, Ed Anderson; Secretary, Janice Wolfe; and Treasurer, Judy Denhart. Lora Grimm was chosen to be our representative to the court of Miss Victory. At Last! We are Sophomores and get a chance at initiating the Greenies--the new underclassmen--which we all enjoy. Our Sophomore officers were, President, Bob Johnson; Vice-President, Ralph Covert; Secretary, Mary Andrews; and Treasurer, Judy Denhart. Lora Grimm was again chosen as our Homecoming attendant. In 1960-61 we prepared for our first Prom, which was financially sponsored by the efforts of everyone in the Junior Play, Meet Me in St. Louis, and our magazine drive. Our year was a success through the efforts of Lora Grimm, Mary Kay Dodson, Connie Fletcher, and Darlene Grimes, our class officers. Our Homecoming attendant was Carol Grimm. Our Senior officers are, President, Lora Grimm; Vice-President, Lawrence Curry; Secretary, Mary Andrews; and Treasurer, Darlene Grimes. Our Homecoming candidates were Sue Lane, Decemma Durbin, Carol Grimm, and Lora Grimm, Miss Victory. Carol Grimm, Lora Grimm, and Sue Lane have led both the Seniors and the rest of the student body in cheering our athletes to victory. It has been said that the years spent in high school are the best years of one’s life. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen; however, I'm sure all the Seniors of '62 will say these have been the best years spent so far. Farewell Seniors to be! We'll leave you in May, but want to wish you all luck in your future careers, whatever they may be. THIS PACE SPONSORED BY BEVILLE SINCLAIR SERVICE Batestown, Illinois 10
