This school year encompasses the ending of an old decade and the beginning of a new. The 1950's were vigorous years. Our world seethed and eventually boiled over in big and small wars. We were horrified by the A and H bomb and made thoughtful by the impending population explosion. Progress was rapid industrially and mechanically, but socially and politically we still fumbled for the way. What will the 60's bring besides more gadgets, more conveniences, more leisure, moon trips, marriage, death, and birth? Will the potentialities of nuclear fission and the new knowledge from space travel produce as much change as steam, gasoline, and the compass? May we do wisely and well in the 60’s.
