DEDICATION To our coaches . . . We, the Class of '59, dedicate our yearbook. To you, the coaches, we offer this record of our hopes, dreams, and accomplishments. We hope you will keep this record on the marquee of your minds, for all of it, each tiny part, each perfect whole is yours. You, our directors and producers, deserve top billings . . . When the boys didn't quite know their plays, or were missing some of their tackles, you provided them. You kept the team improving their imperfections with an excess of training. You showed them how to revise their tactics, to make it fit for production. They were in the center of attention, then as now, and you were on the sidelines cheering them on, making them stars, and for this moment we want you to take the spotlight and accept our undying thanks and gratitude. 2

The most important resource of our country is its citizens. Other nations have large populations, plentiful natural resources, or a diversity in climate equal to ours. We lead all nations because our political liberty is coupled with a universal required public education to insure an intelligent electorate. Our high school is proud of its contribution to the community and nation. This annual is offered in evidence. Sincerely, Wayne E. Koontz 3
