We had To work exTra hard from The sTarT, and wiTh ev- eryone cooperaTing and wanTing a vicTory, we accomplished whaT we had sTarTed ouT To do. The VarsiTy squad ended Their regular season of maTches wiTh an eighT and Two record. By beaTing lvlehlville by Ten poinTs, iT helped The Team gain confi- dence and success in winning 80? of Their maTches. Also The Two mosT improved wresTlers from lasT year's squad Senior STeve Durban and Sophomore Don STaden added To The spiriT and improvemenT of The Team This season. This year The sTory's The same, only The names have changed. The Tigers were paced by ouT- sfanding wresTlers Phil Hagemann and Chris Garavaglia, and led by capTains Tony Weldele and Ken Florian. The squad compiled a 7 win 3 loss duel meel record. placed lsT in The Oakville quad, and 2nd in boTh The Lindbergh and Pacific TournamenTs. Coach lvlike Skinner believes hard work. care for one anoTher, and sum- mer wresTling clinics resulTed in yeT anoTher exTraordinary sea- son. TradiTionally, Oakville Freshman wresTling has been a wrecking crew. UndefeaTed seasons were The expecTaTion. The main rea- son for This was excellenT coaches and ambiTious aThleTes. This season, despiTe some changes, Oakville mainTained The superb coaching ThaT has been Their Trademark. For an undefined reason Though, aspiring aThleTes weren'T lured To The maT.
